How does CPO work through SkillCat?
What you need to know for CPO
We are proud to partner with the Sherwood Pool Consulting Group to provide you and your teams with CPO certification!
What's the process?
Here are the key points you'll want to note about the CPO process.
1) Allot two days for the live Zoom course
Full 8 am - 5 pm course days, with the test being administered on the second day.
2) Schedule right when you purchase
All scheduling can be done immediately through our partner, Sherwood's page.
3) Receive all your study material
All of your required material like your CPO handbook will be mailed to you. This includes your certification after you pass.
4) Attend the course and get your certification!
Once you pass, you'll receive your digital certificate, and receive your physical card within 4 weeks.
Should I get certified?
Yes! If you have the following job titles, it'll be good for you to get CPO certified.
- Pool owners
- Pool managers and supervisors
- Pool maintenance staff
- Lifeguards
- Pool technicians
- Pool and spa service company employees
- Health officials
- Property managers
- Facility Engineers
- Club Managers
- Hotel and Motel Engineering Staff
- Housekeeping Staff
- Seasonal Aquatic Staff
- Recreation Facility Managers
- Public Health Department Sanitarians
Do I need to re-certify?
Yes, your certification is valid for 5 years.
What's the test like?
You'll receive the test on the second course day. It'll be 3 hours and you'll need to score a 37/50 to pass.
What's the cost of CPO?
The cost for the CPO course is $390.
Are virtual CPO courses allowed in my state?
There are certain states and/or counties that may not allow virtual CPO courses. Please refer to Sherwood's website for the most up-to-date list on such locations.
