What Happens if a User Loses Their Certificates?
Losing a certificate is extremely rare—in fact, it has never happened before. The only way a user can truly lose their certificate is if they delete their account, which permanently erases all progress and certifications. If that is the case, the data cannot be recovered.
If the Account Was Not Deleted
If the user did not delete their account but cannot see their certificates, they should follow these steps:
Step 1: Check Where the Course Completion Emails Were Sent
-
Open the email inbox and find the course completion email from SkillCat.
-
Note the email address where the course completion emails were received.
Step 2: Check the Email Address Used to Log In
-
Open the SkillCat app.
-
Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the Home tab.
-
Select “Edit Profile.”
-
Look at the email address displayed under "Email."
Step 3: Compare the Two Email Addresses
-
If the email in Step 1 (where you got the course completion email) matches the email in Step 2 (logged-in email in Edit Profile) → Your certificates should be visible.
-
If the emails do not match, then you are logged into the wrong account.
Step 4: Log Into the Correct Account
-
Log out of the SkillCat app.
-
Log back in using the correct email address (the one that received the course completion email).
Step 5: Still Can’t See the Certificates?
-
If the email addresses match, but you still don’t see your certificates, please contact SkillCat Support at info@skillcatapp.com for further assistance.
✅ In most cases, simply logging in with the correct email will restore access to all certificates!
