OSHA FAQs

What's the difference between OSHA-10 and OSHA-30?

The main difference is the depth and duration of the training:

  • OSHA-10 is a 10-hour course designed for entry-level workers. It covers basic workplace safety, workers’ rights, and common hazards in the construction or general industry.

  • OSHA-30 is a 30-hour course intended for supervisors, managers, or workers with safety responsibilities. It goes deeper into safety topics, hazard prevention, and employer responsibilities.

Both courses are part of OSHA’s Outreach Training Program but serve different roles based on job function and experience level.

Which is best for me?

It depends on your role and career goals:

  • If you’re just starting out or need a foundational understanding of workplace safety, OSHA-10 is the right choice.

  • If you’re in a leadership position, have experience in the field, or are responsible for job site safety, OSHA-30 is the better fit.

ℹ️ Some employers may require one or the other, so it’s always a good idea to check with your manager or HR team.
