The NexTech Select Program provides targeted, standalone training for existing technicians who already have field experience and need focused upskilling rather than a full trade-school pathway.

Select courses use curated content from the Tech Builder curriculum but are delivered as independent courses, allowing Training Leaders to assign only what is relevant to the technician’s role.

Who Is NexTech Select For?

NexTech Select is best suited for:

  • Experienced technicians

  • Technicians needing refresher training

  • Targeted skill development without enrolling in a full trade pathway

  • Companies looking to upskill specific competencies quickly

Pricing & Licensing Model

  • Select courses are sold as a 12-month license

  • One-time purchase (not subscription-based)

  • Pricing varies based on course length

  • Current pricing is visible in the course catalog

  • Select courses can be purchased using Nexstar Gold Points

Once purchased, the learner has access for the full 12-month license period.

Select Program Structure

Each NexTech Select course includes the following components:

1. E-Learning Courses

Self-paced content such as:

  • Readings

  • Videos

  • Knowledge checks

  • Scenarios

  • Quizzes

All required lessons must be completed to progress.

2. Skills Assessment

Hands-on tasks tied to the course content.

  • Learners complete skills alongside e-learning

  • Skills must be reviewed and approved by a Training Leader

3. Final Exam

  • Required to complete the course

  • Passing score: 80% or higher

  • Confirms knowledge retention and competency

Expiration & Due Dates

Expiration Date (Enforced)

  • Reflects the 12-month license expiration

  • Access to the course ends once the license expires

Due Date (Suggested)

  • Provided for pacing and planning

  • Not enforced by the system

Check-In Courses

Some Select programs include Check-In Courses, which are used to:

  • Ensure learners continue progressing on Skills Assessments

  • Collect feedback for NexTech Academy

  • Monitor engagement

The only requirement in a Check-In Course is completing the feedback survey.

“How Was Your Experience?” Course

At the end of the Select curriculum, learners complete the “How Was Your Experience?” course.

This course:

  • Appears after the final exam and curriculum completion

  • Collects feedback on course quality and learning experience

  • Has no additional training or testing requirements
