What is an Observation Checklist?

It's a digital form where your training leader watches you do a skill and gives you feedback—all inside the LMS. No paper needed.

Step 1: Finish Your Online Course

  • Complete the e-learning course for the skill you want to assess.

  • Example: Complete the "Subpanels Discovery" course first.

Step 2: Download and Read the PDF

  • Find the skill assessment in your course.

  • Click "Skills Assessment PDF" Button to see:

    • What steps you need to do

    • What the task is about

    • What you'll be graded on

  • Read it carefully before you ask your training leader to watch you.

Step 3: Tell Your Training Leader You're Ready

  • When you're ready to show your skill, click the "Ready for Review" button.

  • This sends a notice to your training leader that you need to be observed.

Important: Only click this when you're actually ready—don't click it too early!

Step 4: Do the Skill

  • Show your training leader what you learned by doing the task.

  • Your training leader will watch you and take notes.

  • Ask questions before you start if you're not sure about anything.

Step 5: See Your Results

After your training leader finishes reviewing you:

  1. Check Mark Appears

    • You'll see a ✓ mark next to your skill in the course.

  2. View Your Feedback

    • Click to see the full checklist.

    • See if you passed or need to try again.

    • Read any comments from your training leader.

  3. Read the Three Parts

    • You can click to open or close each section:

      • Reviewer Acknowledgment – Says your training leader reviewed everything

      • Task Execution – How well you did the task and if you worked independently

      • Five-Star Skills – A rating for customer service and going above and beyond

  4. Use the Feedback

    • Read all the comments.

    • If you didn't pass, talk to your training leader about what to improve.

    • Work on the areas they mentioned.

Things to Remember

  • Don't submit until you're really ready to do the skill.

  • Read the PDF instructions carefully before asking for review.

  • Pay attention while your training leader is watching.

  • Read all the feedback they give you.

  • If you don't pass, ask your training leader how to improve.
